My goal is to be a work smarter, not harder person. A lot of times I'm the work harder, not smarter person. An example of one way I tend to be a work harder not smarter person is when I'll put a bunch of animal feed on my back and carry it laboriously to the animal trough and try to pour it in. It's a lot easier to just go get the wheelbarrow. But why don't I do this? Maybe it's because I want to prove something. Maybe it's because I want to work out. But I get plenty of workouts opportunities elsewhere. Or maybe I think I deserve the pain. Do we ever? do that? Do we ever do things the hard way because we're subconsciously sabotaging ourselves or because we think that we should do it this way when maybe there's a better way to do it, a creative way that's inside of you that you haven't accessed yet even. So I hear so many people say, I can't do that. can't do that. Or I'll give suggestions and they'll say, well, they'll give all the excuses why they can't. And I'm thinking, well, no wonder you're stuck because you can't. You're not even willing... I think the point is that They're so set on staying the same. maintaining sameness, which is a human tendency. They're gonna stay the same by refusing to do things differently and to be a different person and To get a different result, you have to do things differently. And so rather than clinging on to old ways of doing and thinking, it's time to start opening... the possibility that maybe some of the things you're doing are unnecessary or just flat out wrong. And they can be done better and easier and with more joy. I will say that life is definitely a balance and that we tend to constantly be in flux of being out of balance and in balance in any given day, week, month, year. I'm definitely not exempt from that. I have to constantly be working at keeping my life in balance, making adjustments, trying new things. For example, the days that I typically gotten enough rest, did my meditation, I got up early, and it just tends to go smoother when I put first things first. praying, reading the scriptures is a thing for me that usually gets me kind of set off on the right foot. On the days where I miss my alarm, roll quickly out of bed, try to get everything done really fast, I'm just running all over the place, it's like the whole day is like an avalanche that just, it's constantly behind me and I fall a few times and get under the, like it's, can just feel like, man, this is just hard. Every moment of this day is fraught with inconveniences and phone calls I didn't want and a bill that didn't get paid that should have been paid. And just, these things that tend to come up, which a lot of you are probably thinking, well, that's just life anyway. But I can attest that the days and the months and the years that I have been the most balanced have gone the most smoothly, even on the worst days when things were kind of going wrong. It felt more like a speed bump than me getting T -boned all day long by different cars. And it's a matter of perspective. It's also a matter of being where I could handle it. I was bright and shiny and resilient versus worn out. So Yesterday, for example, I was kind of worn out. Not one of my best days. I had, I think, six different things break throughout the day and I was going, what in the world? All of them were plastic, you know, from a spray bottle to my baby gate and my goat fence, one of the things. I'm just like, you've got to be kidding me. And when I went into the house--I was outside taking care of the goats, noticed this break in the fence-- I thought, well, I could probably super glue that, that could work. Ran in the house to get the super glue. Grabbed the super glue. Usually they come with the little, the top and then the, bottle or what do you call it? The tube. There you go. The tube and the top that you then screw on and then the super glue will then work and the little tiny ones. So I ran out to fix this thing. And then I realized when I got out there that I had two tops and no tube. Super glue. And that's what I mean. It's just the day just kept feeling like I just couldn't get anywhere and I kept repeating myself, repeating things and I do this and that would fall apart. And yes, there are days like that. And think when we can laugh about those days, it's easier to get over them. But also important to ask myself, what can I do so that tomorrow or even the next hour, can be a little less hard because again, like if I'd just taken that extra time to look at what I was doing, if I was in that more balanced state where my mind was sharp and I wasn't running like there was fire blazing on my pants, I would have just gotten outside with the tube and the top and I would able to do what I had to do without having to start over and It's just, it's interesting how life can be so much easier when we're in alignment. It's almost like the universe is conspiring and when we're not it's like hello something needs to change. Attitude? Not sure. Let's try something. Now one thing that can help with approach to how we can make our lives and our days a little easier than harder is, again, I've mentioned this before, but human design. If you haven't done yours already, I recommend you go to your location of birth you'll need and seeing what pops up for you. Again, the human design on that particular website is going to be the day of birth first, then the month, then the year. So be sure to do that. Then you're going to want to go look at your profile. How do you operate? What is your energy system like? Now when it comes to being a generator or a manifesting generator, that's about more than 50 % of the public. If you go, go, go, go all day and you're doing the thing you love to do, and that's the key, if you're in alignment with what you're doing and it lights you up, then you're probably on the right track. You're probably right in alignment with Source, with God's will, and you're doing exactly what you need to be doing if you feel that ease, that flow. It's kind of telling you that, you're doing good. This is where you need to be going. Now that's not to say that when you do what you need to be doing that you won't run up against obstacles that might get you out of balance sometimes as well, but that it will be accompanied by peace. And I've mentioned that before, that it'll just have this knowing and this motivation keep on going on because you know it's what you're supposed to do. Now if you're doing the wrong things, it's like taking a rocket ship and facing it towards the ground and lighting it up. It's, I mean, you can imagine what would happen if that was the case. would be, first of all, going to the ground, make a huge mess and then all over the place, right? Awful. Big mess. Lots of damage. You want to be facing up with your energy, right? Looking upward. aligning and again just using your authority which we talked about in the introduction video number eight. If you haven't seen that go back and watch it. Tuning into your higher power to know what and how to get answers so that you can move forward in doing the things that you need to be doing. The other two big ones, because there's there are quite a few, but the other two major ones that I've run into the most are manifestor and projector. Now, the generators, the manifesting generator and the generator, they have their own energy source. So if they tend to be able to produce their own energy and just kind of just keep going throughout the day. And in fact, if they don't use up all their energy, it's detrimental for them, which is why projectors and manifestors often look at generators going going going going going all day long and doing all these things and they're like man they waste a lot of energy and time how do they do that's crazy how much time they waste but if we don't we use up our energy it's harder to sleep at night like you it's the kind of thing where you're lay up awake at night because you just can't sleep where as it's the opposite for a projector. Projectors are really good at coming up with systems because they have a limited amount of energy. So they learn if they're living their profile the way it was intended, which a lot of projectors are trying to live like generators, so listen up. If you're living like it was intended for you to live, you're going to be resting a lot more, sleeping a lot more, taking breaks during the day, and getting a lot more done when you are working. So people like you are really valuable to people like me who tend to waste a lot of time doing things that aren't really necessary. so They can really hone in and critique and fix or just offer suggestions for how people like me can operate at a more Work smarter not harder level so that we're getting more done and doing the right things. Projectors and manifestors again, they do not have their own energy source So they have to get it from source often. They'll feel more energized when they're around generators but they have to be careful not to overdo it when they hear that little It's time to stop. They need to listen or they're going to burn out. And when they do burn out, and it often will be over the course of, you it could be the course of a day, but also weeks, years, decades even, the burnout is bad. It's harsh. It's absolutely devastatingly brutal where they can't even, a lot of people, not a lot, but I know several people who've gone through this where it's just crash and burn. It's like having a midlife crisis on steroids. So manifestors, projectors, you have to listen to your body. You have to listen to that intuition that says you've worked enough, stop. And when you hear that at that, you need to stop. Get someone to help you; if that's not possible, make sure you get a little more rest the next day, but really don't overextend yourself. Don't do all the things that generators are doing on this planet. You don't need to be working, an 80 hour week. It's just not, it's not the thing. You need to be doing something that will allow you more rest and you will be really good at it. You just have to believe that you will be really good at it. So again, work smarter, work not harder for your type. The last thing I want to mention is if you see your human design, there's a little square at the very bottom of the chart, and if it's filled in brown, it's defined. If it's not filled in and it's white, it's undefined. What that suggests is that if it's undefined, if it's that white color, you probably have a harder time identifying what's most important and doing those things because the to -do list tends to feel very oppressive and every new thing that comes into the space, the emails, the laundry, all those things, there's a literal pressure. I have this that builds up in my body and it's really hard to get rid of that pressure until I do all the things and then I can sit back and go, that feels so much better. I got all the things done, but did I get the most important things done is the question. Now when it's defined, or the brown color, my husband has this and his motto is, why do tomorrow what you can do the day after? And he laughs. And he does make very good at making goals and moving towards things. And he gets a lot of things done. But it's not always right away. And it's important for me to be cognizant that he doesn't operate like me and to respect that. Also, it's important for people with those defined centers to be cognizant of the fact that they're not gonna feel that pressure to get things done necessarily and to - possibly make goals and lists and deadlines that can help them to stay on track. So if you feel so inclined, I would like you to answer these questions. First of all, What is your human design profile? What are you doing now that is working against your design and making it harder for you to do the things you need to do? What are you doing now that is in alignment with your design and helping you do the things that you need to do? And finally, what is one thing in the future that you can commit to do that will get you more in alignment with your design? I want to talk a little bit about habit stacking. I try to prepare as much as I can in the evening, so when I wake up in the morning, everything's kind of ready to go, laid out. One of these things is supplements. I have a little cup that I put all of my supplements in for me and my children. I also have tea set out, herbal tea that's ready to go, and a supplement of cayenne and a lemon ready for me to squeeze into that cayenne and I'll drink the cayenne in water. I have a cupboard with my toothbrush. I've got all the things that I do in the morning with that in the same place so that I will see it. If I wasn't able to get something done the night before, I will set it out so that I'll see it the next morning and get it done then. But the first thing I do when I get right out of bed, I say my prayers. And you can either, if you're not a Christian, you're not of faith, you can meditate. You can think on the day, you can journal. I like to journal as well. I'll go into the sauna for about 40 minutes and journal for the first 40 minutes of the day. After that, go to the bathroom. I'll put oil in my mouth. I do oil pulling. Then I go outside and I do my meditation on a perfect day. Usually my baby's up by then. Sometimes I have to do the meditation later, but my mouth is full of oil. I leave it in there for 20 minutes. I'll milk the goats, but see that there's these habits that I've put all together, that they all run together. it's, and they're visual. I can see them so that I won't forget any of the things that I'm doing that day or that I want to do. Another way to do this while some of us might have habits that we want to stop doing so we can do other things instead. For example, TV watching. How many of you automatically, when you get home from work, grab the remote and just turn on the TV? It's almost habitual, almost like an addiction where you don't even think about it, you just do it. If you want to replace that activity with something maybe a little higher vibration, possibly learning guitar, let's just use that as an example. You can take that remote and put it somewhere as far away from the TV as possible. So like the far end of the house where it would take you maybe 20 seconds to go and retrieve it. Sometimes that 20 seconds is enough for you to think, for you to consider, make a different choice. Just that inconvenience of having to walk across the house and get the remote control. And that doesn't mean you can't ever come home and just watch TV. that you're tired, that's what I want to do today, feel like it's what I need to do today, okay. But sometimes you might want to be playing that guitar. So instead of the remote, where the remote used to be, maybe on a coffee table or something, you could put the guitar right by the coffee table with the sheet music you want to learn and a little stand that's just ready to go so that it's really easy to just sit on the couch like you normally do, and then pick up the guitar instead of the remote and start practicing. 10 minutes. It's amazing what 10 minutes a day on the guitar can do. How far you can get in a year. What is that? 365 days times 10 minutes a day. That's 3650 minutes divided by 60. I'm not sure what that is. Somebody do the math for me. The last point I want to make about possibly doing things smarter, not harder, is to consider that you haven't thought of something. It's amazing to me how many people make excuses, like I've said, but you say, well, I've tried everything. And that's just simply not true. There is a an amazing light and intuition and connection that we have with the divine power that would love to tell us how to fix our problems and has all the solutions if we could just dig a little deeper and access those or ask for them. So instead of just deciding that I've looked everywhere, tried everything that I know and it's not possible. Look for creative solutions that you haven't run into yet that maybe somebody else knows that will come and tell you if you're open to it. If you're open to that energy, you will attract the people who know how to solve your problem or it'll just show up in an email or a random book you find at the store. So be open to creative solutions as well as finding the creative solutions yourself through through meditation or just thinking about it, pondering, taking the time to disconnect long enough for media that you have time to think. My husband is an amazing example of this. He is what I would call the most amazing handyman on the entire planet. He loves, like he finds it so invigorating when things aren't working and he thinks he might be able to figure out how to fix it, even though he's never done it before. Just the challenge of it. It's very exciting to him. And I love that because I have a tendency to get discouraged. this is overwhelming. I've never, I don't know how to fix this and I don't have the money to pay someone right now. He doesn't operate that way. And I think it's just a beautiful quality. Right now, we bought this really old house. It's from the seventies. It has an interesting foundation. Let's just say that it's kind of almost like a palette. with gaps in between these slabs of concrete. So yeah, interesting. and he's been noticing that our plumbing from the toilet and the shower are maybe leaking or it's just just a hunch something's not quite right under there so he started digging and that side of the house the north side now looks like an archaeology archaeological site did i say that right archaeology with mounds of dirt everywhere and a big hole under that side of the house he found a skunk down there he found cast iron plumbing on the toilet which is just wow this house is old. Kind of cool. Most plumbing is plastic these days but he told me this week we're going out of town family event and he decided just he needed to stay home and work this week so he announced that he was going to try to get that Plumbing under the house worked on and fixed this week. He said it like he was excited. So it's just really fun to see that kind of hope and that confidence that, hey, I can figure this out. I will say that over the years, as I have tackled depression and overcome depression and overcome different insecurities in my life and started this podcast. I was terrified to do this years ago. I would not in a million years have shown my face on a camera. And yet here I am doing it. This has taken me a long time to get to this point. And now I have years of examples and tools that I've gathered that have given me the confidence that when really tough things come my way, I can say, yeah, I can figure this out. I can do this. Yeah, no, I've never done this before, but it's going be fine. And I think if we can approach life with that kind of attitude, how much more joy, how much more excitement rather than doomsday, another problem, and looking at it as a challenge and a Sherlock Holmes moment where we can figure this out, figure out this mystery or learn this new skill and take it as this beautiful growing opportunity. So I'd like to challenge you to maybe listen to this podcast again and challenge some of these mindsets that are a tendency for those who are depressed to work out within yourself the possibility that there's more to life and solutions that you haven't discovered yet and that there is so much hope, an unbelievable amount of hope available to you. I want to leave you with one more story that I'm actually really proud of it was one of those moments of desperation where I was able to come up with a very creative solution and it worked and it was very out of the box I was driving my Toyota Sienna and I parked on the side of the road. My son had soccer practice, so he got out of the car to go to soccer practice, and my other son, who was a little older at the time, I want to say he was maybe nine, got out of the car as well just to stretch his legs and he yells to me, Mom, you're tire! It's leaking! And I realized that as I came into the neighborhood where this park was located for the practice that I had hit a curb and that that must have been the cause of this leaking of my tire and I got out, saw it, it seemingly was gushing air. I mean it was a pretty good sized hole and I started to think to myself no no no like how am gonna get I don't want to I did have AAA so I thought well certainly I could call AAA but I don't want to do that I'll have to wait and how inconvenient and then it occurred to me I just said a little help to heaven help me and I had this thought come to my mind that I had super glue. I've talked about this already. I love super glue. I carry super glue in my backpack, in my purse. I remembered I had this super glue, this little tiny bottle, so I got in my car as fast as I could and was scrambling through my stuff and found the super glue and I did get the tube and the top at the same time, put it on, and I put a bunch of glue on this hole and then I used the tube and just pressed it onto that hole until it dried. and the air stopped coming out of the tire. It completely sealed it. And I'm going, woohoo! I was so excited that it actually worked. of me was like, I don't know if this is gonna work, but for the try. And so we were able to drive to a Discount Tire and get the tire exchanged without really very much hassle at all. It was a good 10 minute drive or more and it kept that tire filled and just fine for the duration of the road so again out -of -the -box solutions they're usually available we just have to believe that they are and open our minds up to the possibility instead of despairing before before it's really time to despair. It ended up being a really awesome experience. And I even sent the picture of the tire to the Super Glue company because I wanted to brag about it. And anyway, if you have any stories of your own where you came up with an idea that was really out of the box creative that saved the day, I would love to hear about it. please leave a comment. I would love to hear about it.
